The GoPro camera has become an extremely popular device to carry around with you, and users who also have a Mac might really appreciate the GoPro Studio program that allows them to edit the pictures and videos their device takes.

Overview of GoPro Studio

Whether you love action and adventure or just like to blog about your personal life with videos, millions of people own a GoPro and love the bright, vivid images and videos they get using this small camera. The idea is that it's portable enough to “go” with you, wherever you may venture, and a program like GoPro Studio for Mac allows you to easily edit this with a program that you know for sure will accept the files and give you the right format every time.

This is a program created and released by Woodman Labs, Inc and is actually available for free. There are no hidden charges or fees or features here; you get the program for free, and it works well with the Mac, Mac OS X, or anything later than that. The only program language is English, however.

How GoPro Studio Works

As soon as you open up the GoPro Editor, you will notice that it has the same aesthetic as a lot of other video editors, only everything is a lot sleeker and easier to navigate. For instance, when you first open it up, you'll see three tabs on the top: Import and Convert, Edit, and Export. This is simple enough to figure out, even if you're never used an editor.

You will simply import the files from your GoPro, and then move on to the editing phase. After you've finished snipping and clipping and editing your video or picture slideshow, you can export and get to choose in which format you would like to convert. It's a video editor that was simplified and streamlined to work with the GoPro specifically.

GoPro Studio Features

One of the biggest problems with GoPro files is that their particular format doesn't seem to load up in many video editors, so right away you can say that this program's strongest feature is the ability to load up the file without hassle every time. Its editing features are also strong. You don't get a whole lot of angle changes and chroma-key bells and whistles like with pro-style editors, but you can snip and drag and easily edit together different GoPro files.

Other than that, there aren't a whole lot of features to use with this program. Though the Export feature is very friendly in that you can definitely select videos that will format well for social media, or you can go full 1080p if you really want to create something large and high-quality.
